2019 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Training Camp and Clinic - Brazil
The Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro will host the 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Training Camp and Clinic from 11-15 April 2019.
Head coach will be Gonçalo Ribeiro (POR), who is well-known on the International 420 Class circuit and holds many years experience.
The Clinic is targeted at South American nations and is open to coaches and sailors. The maximum number of entries accepted will be 30 (coaches and sailors). If the clinic is over-subscribed, entries will be limited at the discretion of the organisers. NCAs and MNAs should indicate the order of priority of their coaches and sailors. All entries must be endorsed by their relevant NCA or MNA.
The aim of the Clinic is to share knowledge and coaching techniques, with sessions delivered by specialists in a mix of shore side theory and on-the-water practical sessions.
The 5-day Coaches and Sailors Clinic features a packed daily programme to equip coaches and sailors with knowledge and expertise in the 420 Class, through a mix of shore side theory and on-water practical sessions. Topics will include:

• Running a training programme
• Effective Briefing/Debriefing
• Racing Rules and Race Management
• Video Skills
• Psychology and Physiology

The essential costs of the Clinic are being met by the International 420 Class Association, with participating coaches and sailors required to cover their transport, accommodation and meals.
