The 420 Class reached another important milestone at the 2026 Central American & Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the mixed two-person dinghy fleet completing 12 races in a competitive championship featuring sailors from six nations across the region.

After several days of racing, Mexico’s Alvaro Ramirez Jassa and Sofia Baeza Calero secured the gold medal with a net score of 17 points, leading the fleet from the opening stages of the championship and ultimately finishing four points clear of their closest rivals.

Puerto Rico’s Isabel Olalla Rivera Fernandez and Diego Jose Marrero Cuevas took silver with 23 net points, while The Bahamas’ Mary Nash and Patrick Ryan Tomlinson completed the podium with 24 points.

The International 420 Class Association has reached a major milestone in its global expansion strategy with its official inclusion in the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. Competing in the 2-Person Mixed Dinghy category, the class has proven its vital role as a gateway to high-performance youth and adult double-handed sailing across the region.

The penultimate day of the 2026 420 & 470 Junior European Championships delivered another full schedule for all fleets, with an early morning start once again proving to be the right call. A strong breeze was already established across the race course, allowing the Race Committees to keep the programme on schedule. All fleets started on time and completed two races, setting up a thrilling final day with just two races remaining to decide the European Champions.
