2019 World Sailing Annual Meeting started today in Bermuda

A full day of meetings will open the World Sailing's Annual Conference today in Bermuda. Discussions will run until Nov. 3rd.

The 420 class will be represented by 3 EC members: Nino Shmueli, President; Jose Massapina, Vice President; and Dimitris Dimou, Chairmen of the Technical Committee.

More than 460 delegates from 68 nations will share a full day of Committee and Sub-committee meetings.

World Sailing has 117 recognised International Class Associations and today's Classes Committee meeting will bring them altogether. Attendees represent a wide range of Classes from the Optimist to the Maxi and they will discuss items such as applications for World Sailing Class Status from the L30, WASPZ_X and Funboard Youth Racing Class as well as race officials and sustainability at class events.

The Youth Events Sub-committee will discuss the strategy and future around the Youth Sailing World Championships and the Youth Olympic Games. The Sub-committee will also review the 2019 Hempel Sailing World Championships.

Some of the finest officials in the sport will meet in the International Judges, Measurers and Race Management Sub-committees. A packed agenda will conclude with the consideration of applications for Race Official status. Their recommendations will go to the Race Officials Committee on Tuesday 29 October who will make the final decision ahead.

The Medical Commission and Athletes' Commission will also meet and the day will conclude with the Opening of the Annual Conference in the evening.
