2020 Coaches and Sailors Clinic - Manta, Ecuador - Day 1 report
The second 2020 420 Coaches and Sailors Clinic started yesterday in Ecuador, as part of our 420 Development Programme.
From Mr. Jose Massapina - Vice-President - Int. 420 Class.
Yesterday we started a new Clinic here in Manta Yacht Club, Equador, the first day of the 420 Coaches and Sailors Clinic.
With an interested attendance of 15 sailors and 1 coach, I’ve made my institutional presentation about 420 Class, showing the Class Rules and videoing the four development tools of the Class: 420 to the Max; Online Book of Exercises; the brand new 420 Tuning Video and the Class Promotional Vídeo.
After that, we went to the boat park for the boat preparation and boat tuning, implementing it in the three available boats.
Then we went for a light lunch and in the afternoon took place another practical session on the boat park, about taking and trapeze technics. At about 14:00 we went afloat for taking exercises. In the end of the day we debrief the sailors and prepared the next day session.
We had today with us, opening the clinic, the Equador Sailing Federation member of the board and technical director, Mr. Juan Casal that came afloat with me on the RIB, to watch the evolution of the practical exercises.
In the evening, we had a meeting where we spoke about the future of the Class in Equador and the need to reactivate the National Class Association. It was really positive and every one is keen to support this project.
