With a bit of Deja vu from 2020 US 420 Nationals two weeks ago, the 2021 edition wrapped up today with the Champion and the top girls team doing a repeat on the same waters of Biscayne Bay.

Congrats to Tommy Sitzmann / Luke Woodworth USA for the win, and Vanessa Lahrkamp / Katherine McNamara USA taking the top girls spot, again in 4th overall.

Justin Callahan / Mitchell Callahan USA sailed a solid regatta to take second, and Will Michels / Spencer Kriegstein USA rounded out the podium finishes with a third.

Tommy and Luke sailed a very consistent regatta with 3 bullets, 3 thirds, throwing out a mere 4th in the 8-race series over the 3-day MLK weekend. Justin and Mitchell also took 3 bullets to come within 6 points of the winners.

Conditions covered all the bases, with 4 races on Day 1 in big air, followed by 1 very light air race on Day 2 in which half the fleet missed the time limit, and 3 races on Day 3 in shifty moderate breeze around 10-12 knots.

Big thanks again to PRO (and Class Board Member) Ron Rostorfer and everyone at Coconut Grove Sailing Club for hosting the 420 North Americans this year - the 10th year in a row.
