420 CLASS HIGH PERFORMANCE CLINIC HEADING TO AUSTRALIA
There is exciting news for the Australian 420 fleet with high profile international coach Michalis Mileos (GRE) and International 420 Class Association Vice-President José Massapina (POR) coming to the Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club in Adelaide to run a High Performance clinic for Australian sailors and coaches.
The clinic will run for 5 days from 29 September to 3 October and so far 25 participants have already registered.
The Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club (BSYC) has a long and proud history of 420 sailing, particularly as the first Australian fleet was established at BSYC. The club has hosted two 420 World championships, as well as numerous Australian 420 Championships and its members have won a number of Australian and world championship titles. The South Australian 420 fleet is also based at BSYC.
The local fleet is looking forward to the clinic, which after a long cold winter will kick start the sailing season, which will include the Australian 420 National Championships and Australian Youth Championships in Melbourne in January 2020.
The Australian 420 Class Association greatly appreciates the support of the International 420 Class Association in making this clinic possible.
As with all the 420 Class development initiatives, registration to the clinic is free of charge, with participants just needing to cover costs for their travel, accommodation and daily meals.
Led by expert coach Michali Mileos (GRE), the 5-day Coaches and Sailors Clinic features a packed daily programme to equip coaches and sailors with knowledge and expertise in the 420 Class, through a mix of shore side theory and on-water practical sessions. Topics will include:
