420 COACHES AND SAILORS CLINIC IN MEXICO UNDERWAY

The five day 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Clinic kicked off today in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico led by Head Coach Riccardo de Felice (ITA), well-known on the International 420 Class circuit.

Twenty-one coaches and ten sailors are participating, with the aim of the clinic being to share knowledge and coaching techniques, with sessions delivered by specialists in a mix of shore side theory and on-the-water practical sessions.

Today, Sunday 5 March, the weather delivered an excellent breeze of 14 knots and waves, providing the perfect opening day for the coaches and sailors to familiarize themselves in the 420. Tacking, gybing and spinnaker hoist manoeuvres were run through – and clearly enjoyed by all.

The Clinic is being run by the International 420 Class in partnership with the Mexican 420 National Class Association and the Mexican Navy from 5-9 March.

The 420 Class Clinic in Mexico is the first of eight clinics taking place in 2017 across North America, Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
