BALAGUER BROTHERS SEIZE WIN AT VALENCIA OLYMPIC WEEK
4 races over 3 days of racing was not the anticipated schedule for Valencia Olympic Week hosted at the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja and Real Club de Regatas de Alicante from 9-12 March, but the weather gods were in control over Spanish waters.
Three races were held for the 420 fleet racing out of Club de Regatas de Alicante on the opening day, Friday 10 March, no racing on Saturday due to no wind and a final race on Sunday 12 March.
Spanish brothers, Carlos Balaguer/Nacho Balaguer and the rival sibling partnership of Enrique Lujan/Pablo Lujan went into the final deciding race on tiebreak, both counting scores of 3,1,2. A DSQ penalty score to the Lujan pair pushed them down to 2nd overall with the Balaguer team taking the final race win and victory.
Julia Minana/Silvia Sebastia finished third overall as well as being top girls and winners of the U17 category.
