A super consistent performance from brothers Justin Callahan/Mitchell Callahan saw the pair start conservatively, before advancing through the fleet to score eight finishes inside the top 5, including 3 wins from 11 races. They took the title with an eight point margin over Maddie Hawkins/Yumi Yoshiyasu, and Oliver Hurwitz/Ethan Froelich just 1 point back in third.

The Callahan brothers moved to the 420 from successful careers in the Optimist Class, and so far have already racked up a 5th place at the US Sailing Youth Championships in June 2018 and on their first appearance at a 420 World Championship, finished 12th in the U17 fleet last year.

The next major event for USA 420 teams is the 420 North American Championship from 19-21 January 2019, back on the same waters at Coconut Grove Sailing Club.
