Czech Team Racing Nationals

07
Nov 2013

This annual team racing event is raced at the very heart of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. Twelve teams from 5 nations and 2 continents went head to head in a 3 day battle.

Racing conditions were perfect with a warm southerly breeeze and sun, with the race track buzzing to the sound of live music and commentary.

The race course was on the Moldau River, with stunning views across to Prag's Castle and St Vit's cathedral. Post-race parties were held each evening, and gave the teams the opportunity to enjoy some local hospitality and explore the historic city.

Raced in 420s, the team line-up was a mix of Optimist sailors through to Olympic athletes, giving a real test of skill sets and team work. More than 60 races were held in a round robin format, with a dramatic final fight which saw both the first and second places claimed by Czech teams.

Teams from Czech Republic, Brazil, Hungary, Netherlands and Slovakia were competing.
