Final results - 2021 Italian 420 Youth Championship
Spectacular conclusion at Lake Como in Dervio of the 2021 Italian Double-Handed Sailing Youth Championships, organized by FIV and Consorzio di Circoli Velici Lariani.
A sunny day that favored the entry, around 1pm, of a thermal breeze from the south, the usual Breva, which blew around 10 knots, allowing the dispute of two tests for all six classes in the race, out of the three regatta fields for the Nacra 15, Hobie 16 Spi and Hobie Dragoon catamarans, for the 29er skiff and for the RS Feva and 420 dinghies.
The 2021 edition of the Italian Youth Double has marked a new record of entries, with 309 boats for a total of 618 athletes between 12 and 19 years, confirming the state of health of Italian sailing even at the youth level.
Almost 1/3 of boats belonged to the 420 class, with 97 crews on water - 10 races were held for our fleet - The 2021 Italian 420 Youth overall and Under 19 champions were finally the Napolitans Federico / Riccardo Figlia di Granara (CRV Italy) with 50 points. Second place for Luca Taglialegne / Silvia Versolatto (SV Barcola and Grignano) with 55, draw in points with thirds Tommaso Cilli / Helena Zerykier (YC Sanremo).
Roberta Bocchini / Speranza Savella (CRV Italy) and Alessio Castellan / Jan Matteo Bassi (SV Barcola and Grignano) completed the U19 podium.
First mixed crew were Livia Ciampinelli / Andrea Bianucci (CV Antignano).
Corrado Cicconetti / Francesco Vassallo (CV Vernazzolesi) were first among the U17s, followed by Alessandro Bossi / Achille Ciavatta (LNI Mandello Lario) and Giulia Schultze / Tommaso Vichi (CV3V), also awarded as first mixed crew.
