Garbay/Nebout Javal & Skoczek/Soler lead at Blanes in Cataluña
News of the Intl Grand Prix Vila de Blanes regatta is just coming through after three days and three races – looks like light winds on the Catalan coast. The French YC Mauguio Carnon teams, Maxime Garbay & Achille Nebout Javal and Gabriel Skoczek & Thibaut Soler are in 1st and 2nd, both on 6 points. Nina Keijzer & Anneloes van Veen (NED) are 3rd (10 pts), Max Trippolt & Julian Meister (AUT) 4th (13 pts), Walter B & Rudi Weiss (AUT) 5th (15 pts), S.Pelisson & N.Rossi of YC CAVALAIRE (FRA) 6th (20 pts) and A Brugarolas & J Pibernat, YC Blanes (ESP) 7th (21 pts). One day left….we wish them wind!
Later: So lights were the winds that they had none for two days, apparently; but finally they got underway on Saturday. “At last the wind has appeared in the Bay of Blanes: the conditions have not been the best but thanks to the dexterity and hard work of the Race Committee, three races have been completed.
