Grey skies and a variable 6-12 knot easterly breeze were present across the four racing areas and sailors were looking to get off to a steady start.

420 BOYS
In the Boy's 420, Ido Bilik and Noam Homri (ISR) lead the pack after a race win and a second. No surprise to see the pair as early leaders, after a packed summer of racing saw Homri pick up the bronze medal at the 420 Europeans and 9th at the 420 Junior Europeans with another helm. Bilik has more recently been racing the Olympic 470 Class, but his 420 pedigree runs deep, including winning the 2106 420 Junior Europeans.

Australia's Otto Henry and Rome Featherstone follow in second and USA's Thomas Rice and Trevor Bornarth are third.

Poland's Seweryn Wysokinski/Mateusz Jankowski opened their Youth Worlds assault witha a win in the opening race, but following up with a 22nd place finish in race 2 pushed the pair down to 9th on the leaderboard.

420 GIRLS
In the Girl's division, Israel's Linoy Korn and Yael Steigman lead by 3 points over the USA's Carmen Cowles and Emma Cowles by three points. France's Violette Dorange/Camille Orion are in thrid from scores of 10,1.

Giuletta Lang/Tess Provenzal Kok (ESP) won the opening race, but a black flag (BFD) penalty in race 2 pushes them to an unlucky 13th overall.

The following nations are competing in the 420 Girls and 420 Boys events:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Uruguay, USA and US Virgin Islands

Racing is scheduled to resume at 11:00 local time on Tuesday 12 December, where the 420 Girls and Boys fleets will be tracked live.
