Kimberly Lim and Savannah Siew win Team of the Year
A stunning result for 420 sailors Kimberly Lim and Savannah Siew who won the Singapore National Olympic Committee Team of the Year Award at a prestigious ceremony on 7 June 2014.
2014 marks the second year the impressive partnership of Lim/Siew have won the Team of the Year Award. They were declared winners in recognition of their ongoing successes in the 420 Class, including their silver medal at the 2013 420 Ladies World Championships.
The pair were shortlisted alongside the 2013 Women's Doubles Table Tennis Tennis Champions. The Singapore Sports Awrards mark the most prestigious and glamarous evening in Singapore's sports calendard. Held in the presence of Mr Teo Chee Hean, Singapore's deputy prime minister and President of the Singapore National Olympic Commitee and numerous other dignataries gave just recognition to the achievements of Singapore's sailors.
The finalists were unveiled on 5 May, so the pair have faced a long wait until the Awards presentation on 7 June 2014. Sailior were nominated for several other categories including Sportsboy of the Year, Sportsgirl of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sportsboy/Sportsgirl Team of the Year (Event), Best Sports Event of the Year (Local) andBest Sports Event of the Year (International).
