Diana Bogaards, Sailing Journalist and Event PRO writes: "It is a very wet morning in Medemblik with a variable westerly wind. The 420 sailors are out on the IJsselmeer, waiting for their first starting gun. Some of them left the harbour with the umbrella up in the air. There are three races scheduled for the 420 class. The 470 teams will have one race left, which is the Medal Race for the top ten.

"According to the radar, it will stop raining at about 11:00 AM."

Well. its 11.00 am now and still pretty damp on shore - the flags a bit limp! The PRO tells us that the wind "is very changeable - both in strength and direction....not that strong"
