MALAYSIAN AND SINGAPORE 420 TEAMS BATTLE IT OUT AT MALAYSIAN NATIONAL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The KFC 35th Malaysian Sailing Association-MILOR/NSC National Open Championship took place at the Malaysian National Sailing Centre from 12-16 December 2018.

ALL EVENT INFORMATION

Twenty-four teams from Malaysia and one from Singapore competed in the annual KFC Malaysian Sailing Association-MILOR/NSC National Open Championship, contesting a closely fought 12 race series.

Throughout the series M Uzair Amin Bin Yusof/Naquib Eiman Bin Sharin and Alif Safares Bin Azmi/Muhd Solihin Bin Abdullah had been trading places, as they made gains around the race track hounding each other to victory. Ultimately it came down to a tiebreak, with the better scorecard of race wins awarding the National Championship title to M Uzair Amin Bin Yusof/Naquib Eiman Bin Sharin. Third to Muhd Dhiauddin Bin Rozaini/Abd Latif Bin Mansor.

In the four-boat women's fleet, Nurul Shazwanie Bt Mohd Saad / Nurul Izzryn Bt Shamsul Ariffin claimed the upper hand from the outset, racking up an all top three scorecard, including a 50% race win performance, to take the win. Second to Nor Nabila Natasha Bt Mohd Nazri/Gabrielle Margrace Yang Poquita and third to Sharifah Aliaa Dhamirah Bt Syd Hashim/Juni Karimah Bt Noor Jamali.

Next up for 420 Sailors in Malaysia is the 16th KFC Langkawi International Regatta Perdana, 13-19 February at Kedah Sailing Association.
