NECK AND NECK BATTLE TO VICTORY AT 55TH GRAN DIA DE VELA BUFETE FRAU
Thirty Spanish 420 teams went head to head at the 55th edition of the Gran Dia de la Vela Bufete Frau at Club Nautic Arenal on the Mediterranean island Mallorca from 23-26 August 2018.
Featuring many faces who were fresh from the 420 Worlds in Newport, USA, the battle was guaranteed to be fierce.
Victory went down to the last race, with Conrad Konitzer/Fernando Rodriguez Calvet sitting on a 2 point advantage over Aina Colom Miro/Clara Llabres Rival going into the podium decider. Staying close to each other throughout the race, ultimately Konitzer/Calvet took the race win, leaving Miro/Llabres trailing 4 boats behind to pick up second overall on 1 point deficit. Llabres Rival finished 5th at the 420 Worlds, racing with a different helm.
Third to Pablo Ruiz Ponce/Toni Ripoll Gonzalez.
