Twelve races constituted the series, and at the end is just came down to 3 points between the podium finishers.
Throughout the series, Matteo Zerbin/Giulio Maccarrone, the 2014 420 Ladies World Champion Carlotta Omari and crew Matilda Distefano, and Andrea Totis/Marco Zanni were neck and neck.
The podium decider all came down to the last race, which saw Zerbin/Maccarrone and Omari/Distefano engage in their own battle, which pushed them down to results in the mid-20s – all discarded though. Outcome saw Zerbin/Maccarrone take first overall, second to Omari/Distefano.
Whilst the top two were pre-occupied further back in the fleet, Totis/Zanni seized the opportunity and led from the front to take their first win of the series and secure third overall.
Finishing as top U17 team were Andrea Spagnolli/Kevin Rio, in 14th overall.
Next event coming up in Italy is the National Ranking event at the Marina degli Aregai, the venue for the 2016 420 Worlds. A great opportunity for training and familiarisation on the race area which will decide the 420 World Championship titles in July 2016.
