NOTICE OF RACE PUBLISHED AND ONLINE ENTRY OPEN FOR 2019 420 WORLDS

Today, 16 January 2019, the Notice of Race is published for the 2019 420 Open, Women and U17 World Championship taking place in Vilamoura, Portugal from 3-11 July 2019.

With the Notice of Race published, online entry has also opened.

Please note that entries and entry fee payment of EUR300 per team must be made by 3 June 2019. All entries/entry fee payments after that date will be subject to approval by the 420 Class and subject to an additional entry fee of EUR75.

Registration of coaches/team leaders should be completed using the online entry system, but payment of the entry fee shall be made directly to the Organizing Committee during on-site registration.

Entries may only be made by each National Class Association using their individual login details to complete online entry. The login details are the same as in 2018 and emails with login details will be sent to the contact details we hold on record for each National Class Association, so please check we have your NCA’s correct contact details at http://www.420sailing.org/default/classinfo

With separate racing fleets for Open, Women and the U17 division - the 420 Worlds embraces all levels of competition. To ensure the highest quality of racing, entries are limited by quotas for each division, with nations entitled to send teams as follows:

  • 2019 420 World Championship - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.
  • 2019 420 Women’s World Championship - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.
  • 2019 U17 420 World Championship - is restricted to athletes aged 16 and under at the end of 2018. U17 team is defined as a team who shall not have attained their 17th birthday on or before 31/12/2019 (i.e. born after 31 December 2002) for both members of the team. Each 420 National Class Association is entitled to enter 6 boats (3 boats men or mixed and 3 boats women) and the host NCA entitled to 12 boats (6 boats men or mixed and 6 boats women ). All entries to the U17 World Championship will race in one fleet. If there are less than 30 entries the U17 fleet will be included in the respective of Worlds and Women’s fleets.
