Craig Moss, Vice-Commodore at Murrays Bay SC and the event organiser writes: “Murrays Bay is a club that operates from a beach…..and it looks like the weather will play its part, keeping the launching and retrieval safe. 7.00am all go for turning up and launching the boats. Briefings from 8.45 for the boat crews and sailors. The first race was a scheduled 11.00 am start but did involve a bit of shifting around before a race could get under way, which basically ended up with a course change on most legs. 3-5 kts. Tough for all. Then came around 3 hours of waiting for the wind to settle down before we could finally get the last 2 races for the day under way, 12 -13 kts S.E. About 8-9 hrs on the water so all a little tired”.

But Anthea Dunning, our newly-found special correspondent prepared her First Day’s Report before turning in, remarking when she spiked it that “photos are yet to come they came in off the water so late today and the photographer has gone to bed!!”. We guess they all need their sleep before tomorrow’s racing!

Anyway, we have not quite got a full list of results through yet – though we have been advised to watch the Murrays Bay SC website. But Anthea’s report reveals that James Turner & Logan Dunning Beck class(y) winners at the recent Sail Auckland scored two bullets, and that both those Malaysian teams are again in their element. More soon!
