PODIUM 1,2,3 TO GERMANY AT IZOLA SPRING CUP
An impressive starting line of 65 teams from across Europe contested the 420 Class fleet at the 31st Izola Spring Cup.
This annual event saw home nation teams from Slovenia, joined by a talented line-up from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy and Germany for the 7 race series, hosted by Yacht Club Burja Izola.from 29 March to 2 April.
Germany's 420 teams enjoyed the conditions, and as well as claiming the three podium places in the boys fleet also ended with 7 girls and boys teams inside the overall leaderboard top 10.
Bjarne Studt/Piet Strohm (GER) raced a consistent scorecard,aside from a BFD penalty in race 4 to win by a very comfortable 13 points over J Braun Dullaeus/C Doersch (GER) in second. Third to Florian Buscher/Max Buscher on 49 points.
As well as dominating in the boys fleet, Germany also took home first and second in the girls fleet with My Hoa Offergeld/Anna Krallman taking the title and finishing 9th overall, second to Deike Bomemann/Kim Fernholz in 10th overall and third to Austria's Johanne Schmidt/H Schranzofer in 13th overall.
Top placed home nation team were Matej Planinsic/Jaka Romih in 6th.
