Taking place from 19-22 September at Elektrėnai in Lithuania, the 420 Eastern Europeans feature steams from Belarus, Poland and host nation Lithuania. Hosted by the Lithuanian 420 Class Association under the event management of Antanas Juodsnukis this inaugural event for the 420 fleet has attracted 16 teams, keen to be the first to claim the title. The Championship is combined with the 470 Class, with 9 teams in contention for the title.

Light breeze has eased teams into the racing, but certainly favoured those who prefer lighter wind conditions and lake racing. Poland's Zofia Korsak/Karolna Cendrowska headline the fleet, counting four race wins and their 2nd place from race 4 discarded, to sit on an 8 point advantage over second placed Magdalena Jagiełło/Kamil Kalitow, Sevent points behind in third are Mikołaj Merkler/Jakub Kamińs on tiebreak over Jan Turczynowicz/Antoni Sapijaszko in fourth, with both teams on 19 points.

Racing continues on Saturday and Sunday - follow at 2019easterneuropeans.470.org
