Report from 2020 420 General Assembly Meeting
The 2020 General Assembly meeting of the International 420 Class Association was virtually held online on 15 December 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
The online meeting was attended by representatives from 17 420 National Class Associations around the world: Argentina, Australia, Colombia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine and USA.
Key discussions items and decisions taken were:
Venue for 2021 420 World Championships - The 420 World Championships will be held in Sanremo (Marina degli Aregai – July 2nd-10th 2021). Unfortunately Crozon Morgat are unable to organize The Worlds in 2021..
Venue for 2021 Junior European Championship - 420 JEC to be held in Gaeta-Formia (25thJuly-2nd August 2021) are yet to be confirmed.
Venue for 2021 Youth Sailing World Championship - WS Youth World Championships have not yet been confirmed. WS are still discussing this but it is hoped that the venue will be announced before the end of 2020..
Venues for 2022 Championships - The EC will discuss the venue of the 2022 Championships during the next EC Meeting and proposals will be presented at the 2021 GA.
2021 Development Plan - the GAM endorsed the 420 Class Development Plan for the year ahead, including planned Coaches and Sailors Clinics, promotional opportunities in partnership with the Optimist Class, coaching support at 420 Championships and the Youth Worlds.

Finance - the 2019 Annual Accounts were approved and Michael Rudnick (President of US 420 Class Association) was appointed as the auditor for the year end 31 December 2020.
Class Rules - Technical Committee Report - In 2021 the Technical Committee will go through a full review of the Class Rules, and DD invited all members to make submissions but to do so within the time frame specified in the Constitution.
