Scotti & Cucchiara lead from Volker & Martinez and Xammar & Coyle at truly international Semana de Buenos Aires
Eduardo Mancinelli Scotti & Leonardo Cucchiara (ITA), Bronze medallists at the 2010 Worlds in Haifa led with bullets all the way in the three races at the 2010 Semana de Buenos Aires, which runs over two weekends. Pablo Volker & Agustin Cunill Martinez (ARG), 2009 South American Champions and 9th in Haifa are running 2nd and Jordi Xammar of Spain, the 2010 ISAF Youth World Champion, sailing with Ian Coyle (12th at Haifa) is 3rd.
Nikole Barnes & Agustina Barbuto of US Virgin Islands, 13th in the Ladies’ Worlds, are leading the women in 4th overall after race 3, with Maria J. Cucalon & Andrea Collins of Ecuador, 2nd (6th overall).
With 30 boats on the water and Chile and Uruguay also represented, the Semana Buenos Ares is certainly giving some good preparation for the forthcoming World Championships. Many of the sailors will be participating in the Joint 420/470 Training Clinic during the week before the Semana concludes next weekend.
