Light winds prevailed across the race track, so boat handling was critical as the young teams hunted out the breeze.

In the 420 Men, the win went to Muhamad Uzair AminBin Mohd Yusof/Naquib Eiman Bin Shahrin (MAS), but not without a strong fight from the chasing pair of Suthon Yampinid/Nopporn Booncherd from Thailand and Alif Safares Bin Azmi/Ikrami Hakimin Bin Niakham Marham (MAS), who ended up tied on 28 points apiece.

The 420 girls fleet featured a dominant victory from Thailand’s Sutida Poonpat/Gunyaporn Bueangbon, who despite notching up a penalty score in the first race for being over the line, swiftly transitioned to a string of race wins. The pair claimed 9 race wins in the opening series and led the pack to win the medal race too. Finishing in second, 19 points behind the leaders, were Malaysia’s Nur Aishah Kovo Bt Mohd Yusri/Nurul Izzryn Bt Shamsul Ariffin, with Farah Asima/Nurfatin Syafika in third.
