Vose & Brickwood and Kalderon & Brewer challenge Pirouelle & Sipan domination at Flanders
Through the event until Tuesday night at Nieuwpoort, Framce’s Guillaume Pirouelle & Valentin Sipan have led the Topsport Vlaanderen Regatta 2010 (formerly Flanders Youth Regatta). But, constantly under pressure from the GBR women, Annabel Vose & Megan Brickwood and Rebecca Kalderon & Katrina Brewer have taken a 5 point lead (on equal points) into the final day.
Well up on recent years, with 47 teams racing at Flanders this year, the event is back on track for the start lines of 50+ back in 2005. Attracting large teams from France and Britain, as well as the Netherlands and Belgium, many use it as a first international event. And next year the Junior European 420 and 470 Championships will be at Nieuwpoort.
