Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin seize win at 420 Mid-Winters
Texas Corinthian Yacht Club in the USA was the setting for the 2016 420 Mid-Winter Championship, 5-6 March 2016, which attracted a strong twenty-seven boat 420 fleet.
Overall winners, Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin won yet another US I420 regatta, but this weekend didn't have things entirely their own way. Strong challenges came from both the sibling partnerships of Payton Thompson/Victoria Thompson and Alex Abate/Marcus Abate.
Nine races were completed over the two days of moderate breeze.
Rogers/Parkin strung together a string of top 10 results, including three wins, to finish 2 points ahead of Alex Abate/Marcus Abate, with a further two points to third placed Payton Thompson/Victoria Thompson.
As the final qualifying regatta for this year's 420 World Championship in Italy and Junior European Championship in Hungary, points will now be calculated by the US 420 Class Office, and invitations sent to the qualified sailors.
