2021 Youth Sailing Worlds - The Spanish teams hold the lead while the top spots get tighten

Two new races were held today in Oman for the 420 class competing at the 2021 Youth Sailing Worlds Championships.

Light winds were the predominant conditions once again on this third day of competition.

The 420 Men/Mixed Youth World Championship is still controlled by the Spanish team formed by Ian Clive / Finn Dicke ESP (4-3-5-1-11-7) with 20 points, although scoring their worst performace today. The competition is getting tighten now with the top 5 boats separated just by 8 points. Israelis Roi Levy / Ariel Gal ISR (14-1-1-7-1-12) are second with 22. Germans Florian Krauss / Jannis Summchenn GER (2-11-2-6-15-3) are third with 24. 25 points now for the Turkish team formed by Can Erturk / Ali Beren Adamcil TUR (1-4-6-13-17-1) on fourth. French sailors Zou Schemmel / Jean-Philippe Boudard FRA (6-10-3-2-9-8) are fifth with 28. The reigning 2021 420 Men/Mixed World Champions Tommy Sitzmann / Luke Woodworth USA (11-23DSQ-4-23RET-7-5) dropped to place 13th with 50 units.

The 420 Women Youth World Championship is still in hands of Neus Ballester / Andrea Perello ESP (3-1-3-1-3-1) with 9 points after repeating the 3-1 score for the third time! The French team formed by Manon Pennnaneac'h / Victoire Lerat FRA (11-2-1-3-4-3) hold the second position with 13. The reigning 2021 420 Women's World Champions Vanessa Lahrkamp / Katherine McNamara USA (1-9-4-2-1-14) scored a new bullet but their worst race also today and remain on the third position with 17. The Greek team formed by Dimitra Vartolomaiou / Metaxia Gogou GRE (4-6-20DSQ-5-2-4) is also showing a great and consistent performance along this championship and raised the fourth place now with 21. Italian sailors Camila Michelini / Margherita Bonifacio ITA (2-5-2-14-5-9) are fifth with 23 units.

Race day 4 will come tomorrow with the Women's fleet starting at 12:00, followed by the Men/Mixed at 14:30 (local time). Remember you can follow all this races live through the tracking system at sapsailing.com
