420 CLASS INDONESIA AND SOUTH EAST ASIA CLINIC UNDERWAY
Day 1 at the International 420 Class Association Indonesia and South East Asia Clinic in Jakarta kicked off on 30 November with a general introduction and boat familiarisation.
Led by 420 Class Vice-President Jose Massapina (POR) and Head Coach Nikos Drougkas (GRE), the opening day set the scene for the plans and expectations of the training days ahead, introduction to the sailing pathway provided by the 420 Class and shoreside boat familiarisation.
The afternoon session headed out on the water with Drougkas continuing the boat familiarization in the 420s with the coaches and sailors.
The Clinic is taking place from 30 November-4 December, with the objective to realize the potential of coaches and sailors through growing their knowledge. Across the five days of the clinic, time will be spent on a mix of on-water sessions, lectures, exercises and presentations, with both theory and practicals.
Hosted by the Indonesian Sailing Federation, participants count a mix of male and female, with 25 coaches and 10 sailors, joining this “free of charge” five-day clinic.
