420 Ladies World Champions win Italian National Championships
Carlotta Omari/Francesca Russo Cirillo sealed the Italian National Championship title on Saturday 30 August after a 9 race series in a 64 boat fleet.
Two races on Saturday gave the recently crowned 420 Ladies World Champions results of 1,4 to give them a clear win. Impressive racing from the pair from Trieste, who knocked out four race wins and an all top 10 scoreline, aside from a discarded BFD penalty score in race 4, to secure victory by a massive 28 point margin over Guglielmo Frangi/Pietro Frangi.
The 2nd placed Frangi brothers were awarded the Under 19 National Championship title. The Under 16 National Championship title went to 5th placed Matteo Zerbin/Giulio Maccarrone.
The Italian 420 National Championships was hosted at Circolo Nautico Caposele in Formia on Italys west coast.
