420 Team Racing Worlds underway in Italy
Despite a feeble and unstable morning breeze that forced all the teams ashore for the first part of the day, right after lunch the magic wind switch of Garda lake turned on.
The Race Committee managed to run a full round robin in the afternoon, with a tight schedule and no breaks. Quite a nice day for the Spanish Team that won all the races, to lead the ranking.
Italy 1 - Fraglia Vela Malcesine (Vr) won four races to finish second. The team are: Dimitri Peroni, Alexandra Stalder, Francesca Campri, Gianluca Mazzocchi, Silvia Speri and Maria Coluzzi.
Great Britain 1 ended day 1 in third, thanks to the teamwork of Max Clapp, Ross Banham, Robbie King, Alex King, Jennifer Cropley and Emma Baker
Italy 2 (Circolo Vela 3V), Portugal and Great Britain 2 were tied together in fourth place having won three races, followed by the German team.
All the boats and equipment are provided by the joint organization of Circolo Vela Gargnano, Tremosine & Univela, Nautivela and Olimpic Sails.
The 2015 420 Team Racing Worlds is part of the major events organized with the help of Lombardia County for Expo 2015.
