Racing out of Port of Palaia, south of Athens, 420 teams from Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey contested the 11 races over four days.

A super consistent opener from Vasilios Gourgiotis/Orestis Batsis rewarded them with back to back wins, but with racing so close against Telis Athanasopoulos/Yogo Dimitris Tassios, their follow-up results left them neck and neck. Going into the final day, Athanasopoulos/Tassios held the advantage, sitting 2 points ahead of Vasilios Gourgiotis/Orestis Batsis.

There was no way Gourgiotis/Batsis were going to let this win slip from their hands, particularly as defending Champions. Three races on the final day gave them a scorecard of 4,2,1, bringing the pair to equal points with Athanasopoulos/Tassios. Their win in the final race was the tie break and victory decider.

Greek 420 sailors have delivered a sucessful year on the international stage, as Gourgiotis/Batsis, picked up the bronze medal at the 2016 420 Worlds.

Another superb result for the young pair of Athanasopoulos/Tassios, who are fresh from claiming a silver medal in the 420 Open fleet at the 2016 420 Junior European Championships and win in the U17 fleet at the 2016 420 Worlds.

Third and top placed girls team went to Evangelia Drougka / Eva Maria Vardali.
