ALLEN SAILING PARTNERS WITH 420 CLASS IN SOUTH AFRICA
Allen Brothers is a 420 Class development sponsor for our programme of Coaches and Sailors Clinic which are hosted around the world.
At the start of 2019, Allen Brothers, the leading UK manufacturer of performance sailboat hardware, came onboard as a sponsor of the 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Clinics by providing a full set of boat fittings for each clinic.
In many nations, sourcing equipment spares can be challenging and expensive, so the 420 Class is delighted that Allen Brothers have partnered with us to make a difference to sailors in the nations we are targeting with our Coaches and Sailors Clinics.
As Jose Massapina, 420 Class Vice-President for Development, who is onsite at the clinic in South Africa explained, "We made a lucky draw to give away the fittings provided by Allen Sailing to the sailors. After being presented with their item, sailors were able to exchange the fittings that each one needed more for their boats.
"When the fleet is so old and the most recent boat is from 2007, it is really helpful and welcome by the sailors. They thanks a lot to Allen Sailing for their general support."

The 5-day Coaches and Sailors Clinic features a packed daily programme to equip coaches and sailors with knowledge and expertise in the 420 Class, through a mix of shore side theory and on-water practical sessions. Topics include:

• Running a training programme
• Effective Briefing/Debriefing

The Clinics are a mix of on-water sessions, lectures, exercises and presentations and as with all the 420 Class development initiatives, registration to the Coaches and Sailors Clinics are free of charge, with participants just needing to cover costs for their travel, accommodation and daily meals.
