Battle for top 420 teams
Racing at 2012 Warnemunder Woche took place from 7-9 July 2012 for the 420 fleet, and got underway under a blue sky, 25 degrees temperature and a light but building breeze. Over the three days of racing, 5 races were completed, just losing one race due to the wind.
Competing against an all-German line-up of 420 racers, it was a convincing series win from Fabian Graf/Leon Probandt. The pair scored a race win and five second places to secure the 2012 title by 4 points over Jan Numburger/Felix Wimmer. Despite scoring 2 race wins, Numburger/Felix Wimmer delivered an up and down performance, with their two race wins knocked a bit by some more inconsistent results in this closely paced front fleet.
Top girls’s team and third overall were Muriel-Natalie Schroder/Leonie Eichhorst on 14 points, and sealing the third place. On equal points with the girls’ team and losing out on the tiebreak were Nico Ambrasas/Max Salzwedel, who had to settle for fourth place.
