CLOSE COMPETITION FOR 21 TEAMS AT BRAZILIAN 420 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Leonardo Lombardi/Pietro Geronimi (BRA) went into the final day of racing at the Brazilian 420 National Championship with a 1 point advantage over Bernardo Peixoto/Marcos Arndt, and went on to knock out a superb 1,2 scorecard and seize victory.
Five days of racing and ten races unfolded from 22-26 January with twenty-one teams hunting down open, women and junior national championship titles. Close racing with many teams owning the skill and performance for front of fleet finishes, evidenced by six different teams staking their claim on each of the ten races.
Behind the new national champions Leonardo Lombardi/Pietro Geronimi, Bernardo Peixoto/Marcos Arndt picked up the silver medals and top placed juniors, with Stefano Motta Geronimi/Felipe Szundy in third overall and 2nd placed juniors.
Top girls in 6th overall were Marina da Fonte/Marina Arndt.
