The first Italian team selection 'Regata Nazionale', three-days on the Gulf of Andora, was a challenging experience for 125+ teams, sailing in two flights. With some big winds, changing conditions, many capsizes and many retiring from races, CN Andora was popular for supplying hot food for the return to shore!

The first Italian team selection 'Regata Nazionale', three-days on the Gulf of Andora, was a challenging experience for 125+ teams, sailing in two flights. With some big winds, changing conditions, many capsizes and many retiring from races, CN Andora was popular for supplying hot food for the return to shore!

While the regatta was described as 'one for the experienced', Jacopo Cunial & Michele Inchiostri of SV Barcola Grignano won, with a very impressive five bullets to count - and the leading juniors too! Francesco Falcetelli & Gabriele Franciolini of CN Senigallia were 2nd, just 3 points behind, with three bullets, but a 4th in race 3 [a race won by Jordi Xammen & Joan Herp, Spain’s 2009 ISAF Youth Worlds team from CN Masnou)]. Davide Pollio & Gaetano Volpe of LNI Bari were the leading under 16 team.

The women were led by Sara Amendola of LNI Bari & Giulia Paolillo of RCC Tevere Remo) (in 12th overall) by ten points from Lidia Mazzanti & Giulia Palestrini of CN Senigallia and Elena Berta & Giulia Tisselli of RC Tevere Remo. Cerri Olmo & Meini Edoardo of CV Pietrabianca were the leading women’s junior team.
