Event cancelled - 2020 420 World & Junior European Championships
It is with great regret and sadness that the Executive Committee of the International 420 Class Association have taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 World and Junior European Championships, which were due to be held at Marina Degli Aregai, Italy from 27 October to 1 November 2020.
In view of the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases and a second wave of infections being reported in many countries, we have concluded that we cannot put the safety, health and wellbeing of our membership and volunteers at risk at this time. In addition, the logistical and potential financial consequences of any future changes to country travel restrictions, before or during the event, means that cancellation of the event is our only option.
We all want to thank San Remo Yacht Club for the big effort they made to host our event. We are sure that the class will be back in Marina Degli Aregai in the coming future.
The General Assembly of the Class which was to be held during the World Championships on 26th October 2020 will also now be deferred until Saturday 21st November 2020. The General Assembly will now be held by video conference and the alternative arrangements will be notified to the NCAs/MNAs as soon as possible.
