Thursday's waiting game for wind was replaced today by a slightly more steady 6-8 knot breeze, which served up some challenging races for the 70 teams competing in the 420 Boys and 420 Girls fleets at the GAES Christmas Race on the Bay of Palamos.

420 Boys
With four races nows completed, it is Spain's Marc Llado Durán/Javier Gonzalez Rotger who headline the forty-seven boat 420 Boys fleet, and count two race wins.The pair are fresh from winning the Trofeo Ciutat De Palma on 7 December. Just 4 points behind on a 20 point scoreline are Great Britain's Max Clapp/Ross Banham, who are the only other team to hold an all top 10 card. The British advantage is small, with just 1 point between them and third placed French pair Arnaud Herail/Paco Lepoutre.

This leading three-boat pack are sitting significantly ahead of the rest of the fleet, with the next boat, Great Britain's Robbie King/Alex King a 20 point deficit behind.

420 Girls
Despite being only 4 races into the competition, Carmen Dávila Ponce De León Pareja/Julia Dávila Ponce De León Pareja (ESP) have already established a 12 point advantage in the 23 boat 420 Girls fleet/ Their closest rivals are Cata Homar Estarellas/Maria Llabres Morro on 19 points in second place, chased by Austria's Angelika Kohlendorfer/Viktoria Puxkandl in third.
