With 10 races now completed at the 2011 Kieler Woche, there has been significant shuffling around of positions amongst the 177 420s competing.

Into the lead after a string of top five results, go Angus Galloway and Alexander Gough, their only fall out of the top 5 being a 9, 20 posting in today's races 8 and 9. But their consistency has been well above the other teams, and gives them a comfortable points margin of 15 points going into the final day of racing. Able to discard their 20 points result, they are the only team then counting all top 10 positions – an impressive performance in such a large and highly competitive fleet. Closest to the Australians, but still with a 15 point deficit are Malte Winkel and Lucas Thielemann (GER), with Tim Fischer and Sebastian Ziegler (GER) in third.

Struggling to get back to their form with which they commenced the series are France's Guillaume Piroulle and Valentin Sipan, who put in an impressive performance on day 1, started well in the early races on day 2 and then floundered towards the end of the day, which was repeated again today. They now find themselves in twelfth overall and 68 points behind the leaders. Their ambition will be to get back inside the top 10 – but
