Race day 2 results - 2022 420 & 470 Junior Europeans
It was a long day today on shore and water, waiting for the wind to hit Vilamoura, Portugal, for the second day of competition for the 2022 420 & 470 Junior European Championships.
The racing was planned to start at 14:00 but it was only around 16:00 when the 420 fleets were allowed to launch their boats and head the courses for action (20’ later for the 470s).
But a new AP flag was waiting for the competitors on water due to light breeze.
Finally the 420s yellow group started sailing at 17:55, immediately followed by the Blue and the U17 fleets, while the 470s did it at 18:22 in the other course.
5-6 knots and flat water were the sailing conditions, similar to yesterday but even lighter, allowing only 1 race per fleet to be held.
