Shifty winds marked day 2

Two more races were completed for each fleet after a very difficult sailing wise race for the crews. The early breeze helped race management to start on time, first with women and boys followed.  Lots of shifts made the competitors showcase their tactical skills and the ups and downs of the weather were nowhere to be missed.

 

Women

On the women’s fleet Kerkezou - Giannouli continued their good pace with a bullet and a second, leading the championship with 5 points. Locals Goncalves and Vassel improved from yesterday, standing in second with a second a bullet from today’s results. The Spanish team of Paula and Isabel Laiseca Bueno are in third after a three and a fourth from today.

 

Men / Mixed

The shifty weather shifted also the results on the mixed fleets. First overall are still the locals Freitas and Beck, scoring a bullet and a 29th on the yellow fleet today which they discarded. The German crew of Winter and Botschnare following in second, climbing one place from yesterday. Leith and Ferrissey from New Zealand are sitting third, having a solid day on Blue fleet scoring third and third.

 

Under 17

The Greek crew of Tournis - Michalopoulos seem to cope well with the seniors scoring a sixteen and a second, climbing into 13th Overall and leading the U17 race. The spanish team of Rodriguez Pasqual and Montoya Porland are following in second with their co-patriots Cavaco Torres and Valor Vidal in third.

 

Two more races are scheduled for tomorrow with the first warning signal at 13:00 local time
