Sparks & Gratton win Kiel 2009; Weger & Lechler lead the women
Phil Sparks & Ben Gratton (GBR) won the Kieler Woche today by 2 points from close contenders, Julian & Philipp Autenrieth (GER). Justin Liu & Sherman Cheng (SIN) were 3rd.
Svenja Weger & Wiebke Lechler (GER), 4th overall, led the women, with Rebecca Kalderon & Rosie Sibthorp (GBR) 2nd and Lisa Schweigert & Lisa Frisch (GER) 3rd.
Many of the sailors at Kiel are preparing to represent their countries at the ISAF World Youth Championships in Brazil and/or the 420 Class World Championships at Riva del Garda. There will be a further opportunity to guage the international form for the latter at the forthcoming 59th Intervela on Garda and at the French Coupe Nationale at Port=Blanc. Watch this space!
