Held from 19-21 January 2019, thirty-four 420 teams took to the race track for 8 races over three days.

Thomas Hall/Mariner Fagan had locked themselves into front of fleet racing to control the leaderboard from day 1. Behind, the battle was close as America's top 420 teams duked it out in the mixed breeze, which saw a wide variety of mostly moderate to heavy air conditions, including Sunday's racing in a solid 25 knots+ breeze, and Monday morning's very cold temperatures.

Clear demonstration of the depth of talent saw six different teams win each of the 8 races, and frequent trouncing of the men's teams by the women partnerships.

On the final day of racing, points between the top three teams were super close, but a changing of the guard saw some new faces break through the fleet into podium contention. Consistent racing from Hall/Fagan kept them safe at the front, with brothers Justin Callahan/Mitchell Callahan upping their game to advance to second overall. Oliver Hurwitz/Ethan Froelich had their worst day of the Championship, just managing to hold onto third overall on tiebreak over Liam O'Keefe/Libby Redmond in 4th.

Top women's team were Maddie Hawkins/umi Yoshiyasu in 6th overall, with Sarah Burn/Gabriella Delbello second women (in 7th overall) and Michelle Lahrkamp/Lizzy Kaplan in third (8th overall). A superb 2,1 final day scorecard from Burn/Delbello accelerated them well up into the top 10.

Next up for the American 420 fleet is the 2019 420 US Mid-Winter Championships, 16-18 February 2019, at Miami Yacht Club.
