Racing got underway on Auckland's north shore hosted at Murrays Bay Sailing Club, with New Zealand's top youth sailors and invited classes racing alongside Olympic and Paralympic fleets.

Race day 1 ended with Jonathon Weston/Taylor Balogh coming out on just a 1 point lead. Top girls team were of Xanthe Copeland/Karensa Jennings, in third overall. A gorgeous sunny day on day 2, saw the sea breeze building throughout the day and the 420 lead changing hands to Josh Berry/Henry Haslett, an advantage they carried through to the end of racing on day 3.

With no racing possible on day 4, the overnight scores from day 3 standing, relief for the Berry/Haslett partnership, who sealed the win. And a great chance for New Zealand's 420 sailors to get some racing in ahead of the New Zealand 420 Nationals, which kick off on 10 March 2016.

The young sailors in the 420 enjoyed the rare opportunity to compete at a regatta alongside members of the New Zealand's Olympic campaigners – the very sailors that inspire them to take part in the sport of sailing.

420 Class Top Three
1. Josh Berry and Henry Haslett (NZL/Male)
2. Jonathon Weston and Taylor Balogh (NZL/Male)
3. Xanthe Copeland and Karensa Jennings (NZL/Female)
