Sailors from Greece have become the Junior European Champions in the 420 class in Gdynia. In the open category, Iakovina Kerkezou and Danae Giannouli triumphed, while in the under-17 category, Giorgios Michalopoulos and Ion Stromatias took the top honors. Nine out of the planned twelve races were held during the regatta.

In the last two days of the championship, the conditions were not favorable for the sailors. Due to weak winds, only one race was held on Sunday, and on Monday, the participants waited on the water until the Race Committee send the fleet back to the harbor ending the regatta. As a result, competitors who were further behind lost their chance to improve their positions.

Iakovina Kerkezou and Danae Giannouli outperformed the Spanish duo Miguel Hernandez and Alejandro Corujo, who were the Men/Mixed Junior European Champions, as well as the French pair Zou Schemmel and Jean-Philippe Boudard and the Spanish Jaime Ayarza and Mariano Hernandez who completed the Men/Mixed podium.

In the women’s classification, the second place went to the Germans Valentina Steinlein and Lea Adolph, and the third place was secured by the French sailors Alice Vandi and Juliette Bourgeois. In the mixed teams category, the Italians Marco Maresca and Nina Bramucci emerged as the winners, while two Greek crews also made it to the podium - Dimitrios Bitros and Cleio Soulioti, and Maria Sarikavazi and Evangelos Bouzanas.

173 teams from 17 countries competed in the 3 fleets of the 420 Class.
