The fifth day of racing meant to be a challenging one

Two more races were sailed for each fleet here in Rio de Janeiro. A big day - compared to all other four - for the fleet since the shifty winds didn’t help the race committee to start on time the sequence. Once again the results shuffled, proving the high level of competition.

Men / Mixed

Men / Mixed

Lucas Freitas and Victoria Back climbed back to the first place, with a five and a 10 today, given also a redress after a racing incident on yesterday’s race seven. Lisa Vucetti and Vittorio Bonifaccio are second with a seventeen and a second today. The Kiwis Joe Leith and Joshua Ferrissey are again in podium position, with the best results on today’s racing, a second and a third place.

Women

The Spanish crew of Paula and Isabel Laiseca Bueno are leading the category, carrying yesterday’s lead with 24 points with a solid day having a second and a third. The Brazilian crew of Goncalves - Vassel climbed on second after a fourth and a bullet, only 3 points behind with 27. The Greeks Kerkezou - Giannouli are in third, after a DSQ occured by an incident on the water - discarded and a fifth.

Under 17

Tournis - Michalopoulos are still leading the category despite their not so good perfoming day. Padron - Mesa Oliver are stil in second place followed by Rodriguez Pasqual - Montoya Porland.

The last two races are scheduled for tomorrow, with the first warning signal planned at 12:00 local time with Men/Mixed Gold starting first, followed by Women. Men / Mixed Silver will start third on sequence.
