420 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HITS TV SCREENS
The 420 Worlds Media partner, RTP, the Portuguese National TV channel, has launched the broadcast of the 420 Worlds promotional video.
Reaching over 300 million potential viewers - via TV broadcasters RTP1, RTP2, RTP Africa and RTP International - the aim is to bring 420 Sailing and sailing to a wider public.
Next up, the 420 Worlds Opening Ceremony will be broadcast on a live feed, on the 4 July from 1800 hrs CET. More information to follow about how you can access the feed.
The 2019 420 World Championship takes place in Vilamoura, Portugal from 3-11 July 2019, with racing from 6 July.
With separate racing fleets for Open, Women and the U17 division - the 420 Worlds embraces all levels of competition. To ensure the highest quality of racing, entries are limited by quotas for each division, with nations entitled to send teams as follows:
- 2019 420 World Championship - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.
- 2019 420 Women's World Championship - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.
- 2019 U17 420 World Championship - is restricted to athletes aged 16 and under at the end of 2018.
