2011 420 South American Championships
Despite a final race day which saw the team have their worst day of the regatta a 4,4,3, having posted four bullets in the preceding seven races, their points margin was so significant they easily retained their overall lead. The final day of racing provided some thrilling races, in a northerly ranging from 16-18 knots.
The wind and sea conditions made the last day a challenge for the young Chilean crews with many spectacular capsizes and many crews not risking to set the spinnaker in the downwind legs.
All three races final were won by Juan Garcia Rodriguez/Facundo Olezza from Argentina, followed by their team mates Gonzalo Bisi/Tomas Völker in second place.
Securing the silver medal were Gonzalo Bisi/Tomas Völker (ARG) with Juan Garcia Rodrigues/Facundo Olezza in third.
