Coupe Internationale de l'Amitié 2012
Day 1 of racing was completed on Monday 23 April at Coupe Internationale de L’Amitie (CIMA) 2012, which is taking place through until 27 April 2012 hosted by Cercle de Voile de Martigues, France.

Eighty seven teams have gathered in Martigues and with three races held on day 1 it is Yvann Thelier/Gauther Germain (FRA) who lead the charge after three second places. Their second place in race three was awarded after a redress incident.
Robin Follin/Tao Manni (FRA) and Nicolas Ferrellec/Baptiste Szekely (FRA) are on an equal 10 points apiece, with Follin/Manni having the advantage on tiebreak to take second place, with Ferrellec/Szekely in third.
Fourth overall and the top girls’ team are Nora Truebb/Julia Corbelli from Switzerland who posted a 6,1,7 to sit in fourth with 14 points.
Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan (FRA) who just over a week ago won the ISA Mitsibushi Youth National Championships in Ireland are sitting in fifth overall.
Weather conditions were good, with west south westerly at about 11-15 knots in the morning, increasing to 20 knots in the afternoon.
The 87 teams are sailing in two fleets, which are being re-seeded each day up until five races have been completed, after which the fleets will then be split into gold and silver fleets.
The event will be a solid assessment of the teams to represent France at the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships and the 420 World Championship and 420 Junior European Championship. Alongside the French competitors, teams from Austria, Turkey and Switzerland are also competing.
