Khairunni Mohd Afendi & Nora Mohd Sayed (Malaysia) won race 7 to break the clean run of wins by Singapore’s women’s team of Qing Rachel Lee & Rui Qi Cecilia Low (had they just had tool much of Uncle Edwin’s pasta, we wonder).

Khairunni Mohd Afendi & Nora Mohd Sayed (Malaysia) won race 7 to break the clean run of wins by Singapore’s women’s team of Qing Rachel Lee & Rui Qi Cecilia Low (had they just had tool much of Uncle Edwin’s pasta, we wonder).

And Japan and Korea clocked up race wins by Hiroki Yamaguchi &Tetsuya Isozaki and Hoyeob Yang & Sangmin Lee in the men's.

Singapore’s man of many titles, described on Facebook as ‘deputy chef de mission’ (we thought he was chief chef of the container kitchen) provided us with the best insight into conditions at Shanwei this morning: We have 6 - 8 knots of wind inshore, and it's likely to pick up later in the day….. Singapore sailors have all launched, heading out with fire in their bellies [heavy on the chillies last night, Edwin? (ed)] and huge smiles to make the best out of today".
